Crispy Bush Hill Cheese Halloumi bites

Ingredients:
1 block Bush Hill Cheese halloumi, sliced into cubes
50g breadcrumbs
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1/2 tsp garlic granules
1/2 tsp onion granules
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp plain flour
1 large egg
Oil for drizzling or frying
Hot honey or sweet chili sauce for serving

Method:

  1. Prepare the crispy coating in a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, garlic granules, onion granules, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Place the plain flour on a separate plate and whisk the egg in a bowl.
  3.  Roll each halloumi cube in the flour, then dip it in the whisked egg, shaking off any excess.
  4. Roll each cube in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated on all sides.
  5. Place the coated halloumi cubes in a lined air fryer basket or baking tray and drizzle it with a little oil.
  6. Air fry at 180°C or bake in a fan oven at 180°C/200°C for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway through cooking.
  7. Alternatively, pan fry in a large non-stick frying pan with a splash of oil for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. Serve hot, drizzled with hot honey or sweet chili sauce.
