Ingredients:
1 block Bush Hill Cheese halloumi, sliced into cubes
50g breadcrumbs
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1/2 tsp garlic granules
1/2 tsp onion granules
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp plain flour
1 large egg
Oil for drizzling or frying
Hot honey or sweet chili sauce for serving
Method:
- Prepare the crispy coating in a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, garlic granules, onion granules, and a pinch of salt.
- Place the plain flour on a separate plate and whisk the egg in a bowl.
- Roll each halloumi cube in the flour, then dip it in the whisked egg, shaking off any excess.
- Roll each cube in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated on all sides.
- Place the coated halloumi cubes in a lined air fryer basket or baking tray and drizzle it with a little oil.
- Air fry at 180°C or bake in a fan oven at 180°C/200°C for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway through cooking.
- Alternatively, pan fry in a large non-stick frying pan with a splash of oil for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Serve hot, drizzled with hot honey or sweet chili sauce.
