From pasture to the plate: the journey of our yoghurt

Ever wondered what goes into making that delicious mouthful of our yoghurt? Come along as we trace its journey from our farm to your fridge — and ultimately, your table!

It all begins on here on Underbush Farm in Creighton, where our cows graze on a menu of kikuyu and rye grass and produce what we happily refer to as “white gold” — rich, creamy milk that’s the cornerstone of every Bush Hill Cheese product.

From the dairy, the milk is taken straight to our on-site cheesery just down the road from the dairy, where our (clever!) team carefully craft batches and batches of yoghurt using traditional methods, ensuring every tub is thick, creamy, and full of flavour — just the way yoghurt should be! No nasty fillers added and none of the creamy goodness removed, ensuring as a whole food as possible.

Once ready, the yoghurt is poured into the beautifully branded tubs and placed in the cold rooms, where rows upon rows of fresh yoghurt await delivery. Then it’s over to our hardworking delivery team, who travel across KwaZulu-Natal, ensuring our yoghurt reaches the shelves of our supportive retailers, delis, cafes, hotels and lodges.

Finally, our yoghurt makes its way into your hands — whether it lands in your breakfast bowl, blended into a smoothie, dolloped on a curry, or (let’s be honest) enjoyed straight from the tub!

From the field to your fridge, it’s quite the journey for milk produced on a farm in Creighton — and one we’re proud to be part of every single day.
