KZN cheesery, Bush Hill Cheese, is the proud recipient of two placements for their products in the 2025 South African Dairy Championships, the country’s largest, oldest, and most prestigious dairy competition.
Bush Hill Cheese Brie received a second place in the category, Brie without Condiments, and their Lactose Free Greek Yoghurt, a third place in the Strained Yoghurt (Authentic milk/ muslin cloth straining method) category.
The SA Dairy Championships, held this year on April 8th, plays a dynamic role in recognizing and awarding excellence in the dairy industry, and is highly regarded on the world stage. This year there were a record-breaking 1 110 dairy products, produced by 77 manufacturers, entered, with a panel of 103 expert judges, representing 47 companies, adjudicating the entries over three days.
“We are really proud of our placements, our cheesery is still very young and to be recognized at this stage of our journey, is both humbling and motivating. Special mention goes out to our team, both in the cheesery and on the farm; producing our own milk to produce our range is what sets us apart,” said John Kidger, dairy farmer and owner of Bush Hill Cheese.
